Good chalk but really to expansive for what it is : alcool, chalk and water. I'm a chemist working for l'Oreal and I can order 100% MgCO3 for 4€/kg.

This stuff is great. My hands sweat a lot while I climb, especially in the gym so I started using liquid chalk as a base. The secret stuff is much better than any other I've tried. It takes much much less to get a good base, it holds up well to indoor bouldering (which is where I use it most) so that I I really only feel the need to reapply once in a 2+ hour session and sometimes not even that much. My skin stays dry and that makes my regular chalk do its job that much better. Love this stuff and I will continue to use it.
I got hooked on Secret Stuff when I started using it for hangboard repeaters and found that I didn't need to chalk up again between reps! This stuff is amazing for training and climbing outside!
I used this for the first time last night on some pretty rough holds. I usually can only handle a few hours then my skin is peeling.. But the secret stuff really made a huge difference. Paired with Unicorn dust, the perfect combination. Use less loose chalk, and take care of those fingers!
I love this stuff. It cleans my hands and then dries this amazing layer of chalk into each little pore and wrinkle. I primarily use it in the gym and one coating lasts many climbs. I usually apply a layer at the beginning of my session and then use the Magic Ball for the duration (btw, currently I refilled my Magic Ball with Unicorn Dust and it works awesomely). Highly recommended.
The new version is great. Makes it a lot easier to control how much to use. Using both the Secret stuff(liquid Chalk) and there other chalk, you get a great combination that almost never goes away and that's because i sweat like crazy.
The new Secret Stuff container has been drastically improved compared to the older versions. You have more control of the volume of "Stuff" you apply than before with the old canister versions. It applied more evenly, stayed on longer and the chalk felt more like a liquid than the "lotion" from before, which was an improvement (probably since it didn't dry up quickly in the canister like before). I coupled this with some Harambe grip (the blue chunky friction labs chalk) and put down a short term project first go in hazy/humid conditions. I could definitely see myself getting more.
Secret Stuff really creates good friction between you and the rock. Just spent the weekend in Lake Tahoe, CA and climbed my first V10 with the secret stuff! Loving it! - Zack
If you're not new to the liquid chalk world then you know there's quite a bit of different products out there. I've tried a lot of them marketed towards rock climbing. Some work ok while others are just complete junk. I'm a route setter so I'm always chalking up b/c the new holds literally eat the chalk right off your hands. A little bit of of this stuff goes a long way and I find myself having to chalk my hands less. Of course, out door climbing with this stuff is awesome. Depending on your activity you may need to reapply powder chalk. My hands tend to sweat a little when I climb so regardless if I have this liquid chalk as my base layer, it will EVENTUALLY ware off. Keep in mind it takes a while though, as I climb for around 3-4 hours.
This stuff stays on great. I used it in the sun and shade this past weekend and always felt like I had great friction. It creates a nice thin layer of chalk everywhere you need it.
I've used this outside twice - once in cold/cool conditions and once in warm/hot. I love it as a base to work from for future chalk-up. My hands are dry and clean, not caked up with chalk and perspiration. Also a great refresher mid way through the day. I use this 3 times a day during a full 8 hour outing and would guess a tube will last 20-25 climbing days. I let 3 people try it this weekend and they all plan to order the product. No complaints so far. The tube is a great idea and is easy to transport and find in your crag bag during the day.
The new tube is a great improvement over the original design and avoids a lot of the drying-out problems (so far) with the previous iterations. It coats my hands well enough for about four boulder problems in a warm up or just about two problems further in to my session when my hands are a bit more sweaty. It's great as a base layer as the alcohol definitely helps clean my hands to make a better surface for adhesion of later chalk. I do still find myself using regular chalk though as a re-up throughout my sessions. It would be pretty expensive, I think, to constantly use this as my sole source of chalk.
My only real complaint has been remembering to shake the tube up before you use it. With this iteration, it seems like I'm getting a bit of liquid out every time i open the cap unless I shake it pretty hard (very similar to the liquid from a ketchup bottle if you don't shake it)
So far, so great! Used it both on rock and lifting in the gym. I didn't have to chalk up hardly at all (except for the mental edge, you all do it too, don't lie). I am curious to see how it stands the test of time in terms of evaporation and dispensing properties with the new bottle/possible product formula change but as of right now, satisfied with the great results! Nice chalk film layer and great surprise factor for the dude bros not expected insta-chalked, magic hands.
I haven't used the new stuff yet but I can only imagine it performs better than the old. This stuff is great, it drys your hands right away and leaves a thin smooth layer of chalk. It's also a bonus that it makes me feel like a wizard when I put it on.
I've been with Friction Labs since the first time around of liquid chalk. Even though the bottle had a few issues, I heavily supported it. This new chalk is just a bigger improvement. No bottle issues, stronger formula so you can use less, and it lasts longer. If you buy anything besides Friction Labs products, you are making a mistake.
Went to the gym after I got my new secret stuff and used just a pea size amount which covered my palms. Then I sent a problem and just chalked up using my hands. One "chalk up" lasted me three sends. It's the same with the loose chalk, but this is liquid chalk. Really impressed!
I have never tried any chalk creams before, so I wasn't sure what I'd be getting myself into. But I have to sy that I am wildly impressed. I've been using the unicorn dust in the friction labs chalk ball for a few weeks, and I still find myself needing to chalk up between nearly every climb (my gym is really humid). With the cream, I put it on once before my first climb, and it lasted my through 3-4 climbs before I needed to touch it up with some chalk.
After applying chalk over the cream, I was able to reduce how much I used by a ton/ This stuff won't be what I use all day, but it definitely will always be what I use first

I love Secret Stuff's concept of dustless, only where you need it chalk, and appreciate that it comes in a tube now. But somehow, someplace, little air pockets form in the tube and it comes out in volcanic eruptions that either blast way too much, or it spatters. Maybe I just don't have the application process down yet...I will keep at it. Thanks for the samples!
If you forget to shake the bottle before opening, the clear, liquid fluid spews out and has a strong alcohol smell. However, once you shake it, it goes on your hands very nicely and spreads evenly and dries quickly. No mechanical problems do to the simple squirt-bottle design! Stays on great as a base layer, but I recommend dipping your hands in other chalk after you put the base layer on with this Secret Stuff.
Secret Stuff will knock your socks off! Just in time to put your climbing shoes on and tackle the rock! Secret Stuff is easy and effective. I like a bit of convenience - just a teeny bit - and I am not high maintenance, so Secret Stuff and my hands are a match made in whatever sacred place you happen to believe in! And this is not just hype. Secret Stuff WORKS. And it works with me, not against me. Shake it up good, rub a little on, let it dry for a minute, and jump on the wall. That is all there is to it! It is not messy, nor is it wimpy. It does the job. I do not have to constantly dip in a chalk bag - I can just keep crushing. I love Secret Stuff! You go, FrictionLabs!!! Keep it coming!
This product is incredible. I use it for crossfit and rock climbing. It has come a long way since it's original orange pump bottles. I use it at the beginning of the WOD and there's never a need to apply more chalk. Regular chalk sweats right off but this stuff stays on really well. I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat
Friction labs has done a great job working with customers. From the initial batches that went out in the squirt bottles to these new tubes. The new dispenser works great and so far has kept the stuff from drying out. I used it at the gym the other night and I was able to do routes without chalking back up part way up. I purposely left my chalk bag closed so I could see how well it lasted.
i tried the first batch of secret stuff a year ago. And I can tell you this new stuff is amazing! Goes on your hands smooth. For those of you that sweat a lot give this stuff a try! It takes all the sweat away. Over all very happy with this product.
